Education is the Key to Success
The Black Studies Center takes great pride in congratulating the BASF in its service to the community for the last 23 years. But that service extends well beyond 40 years when viewed in terms of the individuals in BASF that support education and the initiatives of the BASF. In 23 years of its existence BASF has awarded over 330 scholarships (including Nursing, Medicine, the Sciences, the Arts and Humanities) at both the undergraduate and graduate level in accredited institutions. We applaud the fundamental tenet of the organization which states that education is the key to success. It is a view held by the BSC and the educators in the Black Community Forum: if we educate our youth they will find a way to navigate the cracks not fall into them.
